The information below is a guide for your own communications to your colleagues and network. Some of it might not be appropriate for your particular needs, and you may want to add in different information. That’s fine – this is simply a guide.

The key message at the moment is we must stay at home to stop the spread of COVID-19.

  • POST 1 – STAY HOME

We are in a National Lockdown.
We must all stay home so we can slow the spread of COVID-19.
1 in 3 people with COVID-19 have no symptoms.

You must not leave your home unless you have a reasonable excuse (for example, for work or education purposes).
If you need to travel you should stay local – meaning avoiding travelling outside of your village, town or the part of a city where you live – and look to reduce the number of journeys you make overall.

  • Post 2 STAY HOME

The best thing we can all do is to stay at home.

1 in 3 people with COVID-19 have no symptoms.

If you need to go out for essential reasons, please make space from people not in your household or support bubble.

Here are the essential reasons for leaving home: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/national-lockdown-stay-at-home#when-you-can-leave-home

  • Post 3 HandsFaceSpace

Please follow #HandsFaceSpace.

These three simple actions can make a big difference to help stop the spread of COVID-19 if you need to go out.

🙌 Wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds
😷 Cover your face when required
↔  Keep a two metre distance with those you do not live with or are not in your support bubble

  • Post 4 – Get tested

Have you got COVID-19 symptoms? Get tested.
The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

If you’re getting a test because you have symptoms, you and anyone you live with must self-isolate until you get your result. This also applies to anyone in your support bubble.

You can book a test at the test centre or a home test.
You need to get the test done in the first 8 days of having symptoms.
Book your test now:

☎️ Phone 119. Lines are open 7am to 11pm.
🌐 Book online at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
📲 NHS COVID-19 app

If you need support while self-isolating, please visit keeptheislandsafe.org
